Link Building Course, Week 4

Link Building Class Week 4 – Free Subscriber Bonus

Week 4: Directory & Vertical / Resource Page Campaigns

  • This class was recorded in 2006, and in a few places refers to other video content that isn't online for SEO Fast Start subscribers.
  • Streaming video is always a compromise between speed and quality, especially with audio – I think my media team did pretty well but let me know! Broadband access is necessary (128k+) but this video should work fine with any cable or DSL access.
  • If you can't see the video at all, you probably need to upgrade your Flash player.
  • For those who like to read along or read ahead, feel free to download the PDF of this presentation.

Dan, week 4 is another awesome performance! I take away new information that will help me in each and every video. THANKS!

Also, great choice on the look and feel for the newsletter.

Hi Dan,

I've enjoyed the last 3 videos in your link building series and they were all very informative.

I've just started listening to Week 4 (Directory Submissions) and I've found that the volume is quite loud on this one and it's making it sound a bit muffled.

Just thought I'd share that.

Keep up the great work.

Thanks, Ant – I'll have 'em mash the volume down for us.

I'm being cheeky [again!] but do you have an example of the database log spreadsheet? :D

Dan Thies @ 10:25 am

What spreadsheet?

Darren – an image of the spreadsheet that Dan uses is in the videopresentation and is also one of the slides in the PDF that he links to above.

That was a valuable use of 35 minutes of my time, thanks, Dan.

Hi,

I was trying to download the Week 4 session "Week 4: Directory & Vertical / Resourc(e) Page Campaigns and find that your link goes to the 5th week program.

Would you send me the link to the 4th week PDF file.

Thank you.

Pat Dinan patdinan@comcast.net

PS. Not the best speller, but notice you were also missing the "E" in Rosource. Just thought you should be made aware.

Hi Thank you for the free course. I work for a design company that has many domains and I am carrying our SEO for them.

I am not a programmer but realise how to optimise websites for maximum productivity, usability etc, however I would like your opinion on what software to use to make the neccesay changes to headers, meta, alt and other tags as well as copy.

I need something to allow me to make the changes easily with no knowledge of programming.

The sites we have are PHP & ASP mainly but I do not know these languages, how should I go about editing pages on these websites without bringing tthe site down or having any problems after I have made my necessay changes.

I will be very grateful if you can advise me, remembering I am not a programmer and dont know anything about PHP, ASP or dynamic programming.

Thank you

Jason

Dan Thies @ 5:11 pm

Jason,

Without understanding the programming, or having some kind of administrative user interface, you won't be able to make changes to dynamic sites.

Somebody built those sites – can they help you make changes?
